Night Dispatcher

What You’ll Do

This is a defensive role—you’re the last line of defense covering after-hours operations when the rest of the team is offline. You’ll spend most of your shift monitoring ongoing shipments, communicating with drivers and customers, and handling problems as they arise.

Here’s the reality of the shift:

• 40% — Dead quiet. You’re monitoring systems and staying alert.

• 40% — Steady and manageable. Normal operational flow.

• 20% — The house is on fire. Multiple issues at once, and you’re the one holding it together.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor Shipments: Track ongoing loads to ensure drivers stay on schedule and identify delays before they become problems.

• Communicate with Drivers: Respond to text messages, calls, and updates. Provide clear direction and support.

• Communicate with Customers: Send updates via email and respond to inquiries professionally and promptly.

• Dispatch Loads: When the system books new freight, call drivers to dispatch shipments and coordinate pickup/delivery.

• Resolve Issues: Handle breakdowns, delays, missed check-ins, and other operational problems quickly and effectively.

Requirements

• • Fluent English (C1+ level): Clear, confident communication with U.S.-based drivers and customers.

  • Calm under pressure: You stay logical and composed when multiple issues hit at once.

  • Strong multitasking: Able to manage several shipments and priorities without losing focus.

  • Clear communicator: You write and speak with clarity, even when tired or under stress.

  • Reliable and disciplined: You stay consistent — alert during slow hours, steady during chaos.

  • Night-shift ready: You understand the rhythm of working nights and know how to manage your energy.
